     Interpreting

If there is a deaf person involved in your business ventures, and he/she utilizes sign language as his/her primary means of communication, you may be required by law to provide a sign language interpreter.   Some examples of these types of business endeavors include but are not limited to the following:  staff meetings, public events, and medical consultations.  To find out more about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and your legal obligation to provide interpreting services, please see our Legal Page or visit www.ada.gov for a complete PDF copy of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
